Rabun County 911 received a call for a house on fire with flames showing at approximately 11:27 a.m.

Land deeded for future wastewater treatment plant

CLAYTON-- The Rabun County Board of Commissioners deeded 23-acres of land it recently acquired to the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) as the future site of a wastewater treatment plant, at Tuesday’s commission meeting.
Commissioner Scott Crane was not in attendance.

Evans rescues woman from structure fire

LAKEMONT-- An elderly, non-ambulatory woman was rescued from a structure fire in Lakemont by a Hospice CNA on Monday.
Habersham resident Hayley Evans works for PruittHealth Hospice of Gainesville and has been a CNA for 10 years. She’s served the Rabun County area for about two-and-a-half years.
