Ramey remembered for his selfless service

David Ramey is remembered by his community as a selfless servant who gave generously and abundantly, embodying the biblical teaching of John 15:13, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Ramey, 50, of Wiley passed away on September 9, 2020.

Clayton leaves millage rate unchanged for coming year

CLAYTON-- City of Clayton council members voted unanimously to keep the millage rate at 8.769 mills at Tuesday’s council meeting.  “That is the current millage rate of the city of Clayton,” said Mayor Jordan Green.  The millage rate is the amount of tax per dollar of assessed value of a property.

Golf tournament raises prostate cancer awareness

CLAYTON--The Rabun County Golf Course played host to the 16th annual prostate cancer awareness tournament last Saturday, raising $1,600 for local scholarships.  “It went fantastic,” said Dr. Guy Gober, organizer of the tournament, about how it went.

County golf course clubhouse open for business

CLAYTON--The Rabun County Golf Clubhouse is now open after a new building was built following the demolition of the old clubhouse.  Darrin Giles, county administrator, said that the project cost about $750,000.  “It’s open and they are operating out of it,” Giles said.

Rabun GOP opens new party headquarters

CLAYTON-- The Rabun County Republicans conducted a ribbon cutting for their new Trump Victory 2020 Campaign Headquarters last Saturday.  It is located at the Clayton Indoor Flea Market, 811 U.S. Highway 441, with a separate entrance on the front of the building.
