RCMS students produce compilation music CD

TIGER--Students at Rabun County Middle School recently produced their first music compilation CD as part of general music classes taught by Stefani Taylor.  The CD is titled “Voyagers Greatest Hits Vol. 1” and is the result of a partnership with the Southern Highland Music Foundation (SHMF).

Couple provides food as a labor of love in Mtn. City

Mountain City-- Military veteran Carl Green has spent his entire life helping people, and he and his wife Barbara continue to help feed residents of Rabun County and neighboring communities with a food distribution held at the American Legion Post 220, 4 Electric Ave in Mountain City every Thursday.

Rabun residents honored by sheriffs' association

Rabun County residents Stephen Wright and Tom Madison were recognized as recipients of the Meritorious Award at the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association Summer Sheriffs’ Conference held at Lake Lanier Islands recently.  The pair was nominated by Sheriff Chad Nichols.

The Rabun County Public Library reopened on Tuesday and patrons are required to wear masks while browsing and follow other health guidelines like sanitizing hands and following the direction arrows to maintain a six-foot distance. Jennifer Buchanan, circulation supervisor, uses hand sanitizer to demonstrate measures patrons are asked to take upon entering the library.

CLAYTON-- The Rabun County Public Library reopened on Tuesday after closing due to an executive order on July 15 from Gov. Brian Kemp that barred local governments from mandating the wearing of masks on public property.

Hit-and-run driver sought after killing Clayton man

CLAYTON--A Clayton man was killed in a hit and run accident in Clayton last Saturday morning as he was walking to work at his job at a local fast food restaurant. Mario Demon Webb, 26 of Clayton died after appearing to be struck by a vehicle at Old Highway 441 S at Dunlap St.

On July 16, 2020, Habersham EMC members elected Dallas Taylor of Clayton to represent the North District on the HEMC Board of Directors. A Rabun County native, Taylor grew up in Tiger.
