TALLULAH FALLS— Short-term vacation rentals will not be allowed in some zoning districts in Tallulah Falls following a vote by Town Council members at a special called meeting last Thursday.

Graduates offered 2 options for graduation ceremony

TIGER— Rabun County Schools will hold graduation on Saturday, August 1 and students have an opportunity to choose between two graduation plans: a “traditional stadium graduation” or a “personal drive through graduation.

Schools set to open in next month

CLAYTON--The 2019-20 academic school year ended in an untraditional fashion due to the coronavirus pandemic and plans for the new school year are starting in an unconventional way.

Art scholarship winner discusses future

CLAYTON— The North Georgia Arts Guild heard a presentation from one of three scholarship winners awarded 2020 arts scholarships from the Arts Guild’s Scholarship Program, at their meeting at the pavilions behind the Civic Center last Thursday.

Clayton council gives funds to Forward Rabun

CLAYTON— Clayton council members voted unanimously at Tuesday’s meeting to allocate a portion of hotel/motel tax funds to Forward Rabun. Council member Michelle Duquette was not present at the meeting and participated via speakerphone.

COVID-19 cases up 45% in one week

CLAYTON—Confirmed cases of COVID-19 rose by 45 percent in Rabun County in the past week. It marked the single biggest weekly increase since the Georgia Dept. of Public Health began reporting statistics in March.

 CLAYTON— The general primary runoff election is set for Aug. 11 in Rabun County.   Early voting starts July 20 and runs through August 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rabun County Board of Elections Office, with Saturday voting on August 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Election’s Office.
