First Impressions donation

First Impressions, an all-volunteer resource that provides work ready and casual clothing free of charge to those in need in the region, recently received a donation of clothing from Tallulah Tykes, a Clayton business that closed its doors earlier this month.

Rabun County residents will get the opportunity to test out Georgia's new voting machines on Monday, Feb. 24.  Tammy Whitmire, elections supervisor, said that community members can go to the Rabun County Board of Elections Office between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

"For the safety of our students and staff, Rabun County Schools will be closed Friday, Feb. 21, 2020 due to potential hazardous road conditions," according to April Childers, superintendent for Rabun County Schools.  Students are not required to work from home.

CLAYTON— Clayton City Council members unanimously passed a motion to approve the first reading of the short-term rental ordinance, opting to not read the entire ordinance aloud, at their regular meeting on Tuesday.

City approves alcohol permits for events

CLAYTON— Clayton City Council Members approved a one-day alcohol permit for the Rabun County Civic Center for a performance by Malpass Bros. on March 14 at their regular meeting on Tuesday. They also approved one-day alcohol permits for Rotary Casino Night on April 18 and the Fur Ball on May 30.
