Support our first responders

It’s important to recognize Rabun County’s heroes and thank our first responders for their service to the community. The third annual 2025 Rabun County First Responders’ Appreciation Dinner is coming up Thursday, Aug. 28, and the community is invited to attend.

Help name mascot for a Place of Hope

Local nonprofit Place of Hope (POH) North Georgia’s primary focus is to support and care for children entering and living in the foster care system in our area. There are many ways the community can support the faith-based organization including donating and volunteering.

Carr drives campaign into Clayton

Georgia gubernatorial Republican candidate Chris Carr held a campaign Meet-and-Greet event in Clayton on Friday, Aug. 15, with several members of the community in attendance. Carr visited Rabun County with his campaign staff and wife, Joan.

City of Dillard honors owner of Blue Hound Barbecue and Grill

Men who are told they smell good typically receive that compliment because they have splashed or sprayed some cologne onto their skin. That is not the case when it comes to Kyle Bryner. The aroma he has comes from his day at work.

Rotary Club of Clayton kicks off 2025-2026 year with celebration

The Rotary Club of Clayton officially launched its 2025-2026 year with a powerful message of unity and service at its annual Kick-Off Celebration held Thursday, July 31, at the historic Dillard House.

Sky Valley POA honors Purple Heart recipients in special ceremony

The Sky Valley Property Owners Association (POA) honored Purple Heart Day during its monthly meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the Sky Valley Country Club. The special event paid tribute to those wounded or killed in combat while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Rabun Pickleball Club supports Choices Pregnancy Center

The Rabun Pickleball Club held a fundraiser for the local charity, Choices Pregnancy Center in July as $1,429.25 was raised by members of the club in a very innovative manner. More than 100 baby bottles were distributed and filled with loose change and paper cash during July.

Pre-K brings joys of learning at primary school

Rabun County Primary School (RCPS) welcomed its Pre-K students on Thursday, Aug. 7, and the administrators, faculty and staff were excited to greet the kiddos for their new classroom adventures. “We welcomed a wonderful group of Pre-K students for the first time on Thursday (Aug. 7).

Clayton, Water & Sewer reach $175,000 settlement

City of Clayton and Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) officials reached a settlement agreement in the amount of $175,000 related to alleged unpaid funds pertaining to the Feb. 26, 2024, water and sewer consolidation.
