Foxfire receives grant for removal of hazardous trees

The Rotary Club of Clayton is all about service above self and Rotarians continue to do their part to help local nonprofits thrive. In March, Foxfire received a grant from the Rotary Club of Clayton Foundation to remove trees that were hazardous to historic buildings at the museum site.

Old School Garden blooms into May with Spring Plant Sale

The Old School Garden (OSG) held its Spring Plant Sale on Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3, and it featured a variety of plants including annuals, perennials and much more. “Our garden is a nonprofit community garden,” said OSG President Lisa Phillips.

TFS Lower and Middle School have a Grand Day with guests

The Tallulah Falls School lower and middle school community celebrated the grand people in their lives at the annual Grand Day on Thursday, April 17. Students invited grandparents, grand friends, or other influential people in their lives to come and take a glimpse into their school experience.

TIGER– In an exciting breakthrough for turtle conservation, biologists with The Orianne Society have uncovered a previously unknown population of the elusive and imperiled Spotted Turtle (Clemmys guttata) in southern Georgia, injecting a surge of hope into efforts to conserve this species.

The Rotary Club of Clayton held its fundraising gala “Run for the Roses” on Saturday, May 3, with hundreds of people in attendance. It was an elegant evening of dining and dancing filled with Derby fare, dapper attire, Derby hats and a live telecast of the 151st Kentucky Derby.

Last weekend’s Dinglerfest 2025 featured unique folk art all for a good cause as proceeds benefited the local nonprofit Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund. The Saturday, May 3, and Sunday, May 4, event was held at the pavilions in downtown Clayton. It featured folk art, live music and food.
