Local arson incidents remain undetermined

F.A.I.T.H. thanks community for successful Sweetheart Ball

F.A.I.T.H’s annual Sweetheart Ball on Saturday, Feb. 8 was a success as community members showed out for a night of dancing, friendship and fun to support the mission of the local nonprofit. The ball is one of F.A.I.T.H.’s premier events and raised around $100,000 this year.

Authority crews work through night to repair leak

When a Georgia Department of Transportation contractor cut a 10-inch ductile iron water line that supplies water to Mountain City on Feb. 13, a crew of Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) employees worked throughout the night to restore service.

Human remains found in Habersham County

A missing person investigation by a sheriff’s office 88 miles away led Habersham County authorities to find human remains in Cornelia in the early morning hours of Thursday, Feb. 20. The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office at 12:15 a.m. Feb.

TFS students prepare to launch drones

Tallulah Falls School senior Mallory Higgins of Cornelia is learning something new – how to fly a drone. “Knowing how to fly a drone can be used for all kinds of things,” said Higgins. “If I know how to use it, I can use it in a job like law enforcement. I want to be a detective.
