Community remembers James Andrews as ‘sweet and caring’

Many members of the Rabun County community have fond memories of local resident James Andrews. Shoppers at Ingles in Clayton were always greeted with a smile, fist bump or a hug and met with words of encouragement. James Michael Andrews, 40, of Clayton, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025.

School board hears opinions on HB 581 from citizens during first public hearing

Rabun County Board of Education members held the first public hearing to gauge community input for the HB 581 Homestead Exemption and were met with citizens both for and against the school board opting out. “We appreciate you being here,” Superintendent Steven Cole told those in attendance.

Tiger council approves 19-home development

Tiger Town Council members unanimously approved a proposed 19-house development on approximately 22 acres located behind the business Traces of Tiger inside Tiger city limits during Monday’s council meeting. Officials discussed that it is the largest development ever approved in the Town of Tiger.
