David L. Mize
David L. Mize, 90, of Clayton, passed away March 12, 2016, at his residence.
David was born in Rabun County on Feb. 4, 1926, the son of the late Roy Mize and Minnie Grinstaf Mize. David served his country in the Armed Forces.
He was the owner and operator of Mize Mortuary and Flower Service in Clayton for many years. During that time, he also operated an EMS service in Clayton providing a valuable service to the residents of Rabun County. David was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed camping, fishing and working on his own equipment and vehicles. He loved people and lived his life to its fullest.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucille Thomas Mize; one brother, Bob Mize; and one sister, Martha Mize.
He is survived by one son, Michael Mize, of Clayton; one daughter, Bonnie Stancil of Cornelia; three grandchildren Kenny Mize, Tucker Henson wife Dawn, and Michaela Mize; two great-grandchildren Mackenzie Henson and Jake David Henson. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
