James Edward Barlow
James Edward Barlow, 78, of Chestnut Mountain Drive, Rabun Gap, died Thursday night, Aug. 11, 2016, in Commerce.
He was born in Upson County on Aug. 25, 1937, to Carl and Nellie Brown Barlow.
He was the husband of Ellen Ryals Barlow of Rabun Gap.
Mr. Barlow was a contractor in the building industry and was a member of the Kingdom Hall, Jehovah’s Witness in Mountain City.
He was preceded in death by a son, Duane Barlow and by a brother, Sherrod Barlow.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Ryals Barlow of Rabun Gap. two sons, Derek Barlow (Jamie) of Clayton, Jeff Barlow (Tammy) of Toccoa, two daughters Julie Davis (Norm) of Dothan Alabama, and Angela Palmer (John) of Ocala, Florida, two brothers, Clayton Barlow of Ocala, and Henry Barlow of Tallahassee, Florida, and one sister Elsie Barlow Holder of Blairsville. Seven grandchildren also survive.
Burial was Monday, Aug. 15, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the Barlow Family Cemetery in Indian Springs.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at the Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness, Mountain City, at 2 p.m., conducted by Scot Roberge.
