Rickey Morris Darnell, of Lakeland, Fla., age 59, passed away Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022.
He was born June 5, 1963, in Clayton, Ga. He was the son of the late George Morris and Iva Elaine (Brantley) Darnell. Rickey leaves behind a loving family that includes his beloved son, Cameron Darnell of Valrico, Fla.; his cherished siblings: Kevin Darnell of Lakeland, Fla., and Rita Butcher of Clayton, Ga.; his former spouse, Charolette Darnell of Valrico; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Rickey was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Kathy Welch and his sister-in-law, Heather King Darnell.
Rickey was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army; he enjoyed Sci-Fi movies and documentaries and was always cracking a joke. He worked as a manager in the waste and recycling industry for many years. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Rickey is now “Living the Dream” in his heavenly home.
A service of remembrance will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that cards or donations be sent to his son, Cameron Darnell which will allow him to lay his father to rest as promised … in Alaska and up home in Rabun County, Georgia.
