After graduating with honors from Furman University, she dedicated her life in service to others as wife, mother, homemaker and mentor to legions of friends and acquaintances and their children. She was a 50-year member of Aldersgate Methodist Church in Augusta. The annual Easter egg hunts across the lawns and woods of her home in Martinez were a 45-year tradition for young families of the Aldersgate and Quest churches.

During her long and productive life, she taught the finer arts of etiquette, baking, cake decorating and formal entertaining to dozens of young women who sought to emulate her effortless grace and charm. She was a life member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

In accordance with her wishes, Lib will be commemorated and interred jointly among many others who have also willed their bodies to medical education. She has requested that anyone desiring to honor her memory leave the flowers to bloom in the fields, consider becoming an organ and/or tissue donor, and give generously to their favorite charitable organizations.
