Arthur Richard Bleckley, 75 of Clayton, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 29, 2022.

Richard was a carpenter by trade. He was a member of Battle Branch Baptist Church. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. His 3 grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Wanda Bleckley. He is survived by children Gary Bleckley (Tanya) and Amanda Weber (Mike) both of Clayton, grandchildren, Brooke Bleckley (Steven), Rayna Bleckley (Matthew) and Blake Weber. He was Chi to special grandchildren Shanda Speed (Rusty) and Seth Speed (Katie). Surviving siblings include Bill Bleckley (Katy) of Hendersonville, Tenn., Virginia Hopkins of Clayton, and Alan Bleckley (Joann) of Franklin, N.C. He was preceded in death by siblings Marvin Bleckley, Andrew Bleckley, Margie Crowe, Julia Speed, Pickett Bleckley, Jeff Bleckley and half-brother, Alvin Crowe. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

There was a private graveside service at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery on May 31 at with Pastor Tully Griggs and Seth Speed officiating. The family has been at the home located at 79 Holcomb Lane, Clayton. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made in Richard’s memory to the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund P.O. Box 485 Rabun Gap, GA 30568.
