Jan Rogers, “Pappy,” went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 21, 2022, just 10 days short of his 73rd birthday.

He fought a hard, tough battle with COPD. He was a caring husband, father, “Pappy,” brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He spent his life working with wood as a master carpenter. He was an avid Georgia fan and never missed watching a game. Those who knew him were always greeted with a strong handshake, hug, and a huge smile. Jan met and married the love of his life, Rose, in 1984. They lived together in Athens, Ga., home of the Dawgs.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jenny Rose; his parents, Ransom and Lorene Rogers; and his sister Carolyn Rogers. Jan is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rose; his sister, Glenda Rogers of Clayton; his six children: “Big Josh,” Kelly, Josh, Jeramy, Jacob, and Jesse; and his 13 grandchildren: Price, Savannah, CJ, Georgia, Reese, Tyler, Trinity, Jacyn, Blaine (“JB”), Lilly Rae, Josslynn, “Junior” and Asa.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
