John L. Gray, age 88 of Tallulah Falls, went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2022.

Born in Shreveport, La., on Aug. 16, 1933, he was a son of the late Rev. Luzell M. & Gladys Hale Gray. John served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He began his career with Georgia Power in 1956 and transferred his family to Tallulah Falls in 1961. Before retirement, John served as the manager for the North Georgia Hydro Group. He was a very active member of the Tallulah Falls community for many years where he was a member of Tallulah Falls Lions Club, Citizens of Georgia Power Group, Ambassadors of Georgia Power, and Tallulah Falls Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Cara Gray, brothers, David Gray & Bob Gray; as well as sister, Joanne Anderson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Era Faye Owens Gray; sons & daughters-in-law, Dayne & Irene Gray, Dale & Dee Dee Gray, Greg & Debra Gray; sisters, Betty Truitt, Pauline Parrish, & Frances Driver; grandchildren, Nikki Smith (Todd), Chad Gray, Matthew Gray (Leann), John Gray, Cara Hedge (Michael), Ashley Abrahamian (Roy); great-grandchildren, Nick Smith, Hayden Smith, Titus Ingram, Kenlee Hedge, Crayton Smith, Ansley Gray, Grayson Smith, Austin Gray, & Sarah Kate Smith; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, & a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on June 17, 2022, at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville. Military Honors were provided by the Grant Reeves Honor Guard. Interment followed in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
