Joyce Mize Campbell, age 76, of Clayton, passed away on May 14, 2022. Joyce was born the daughter of the late Julius Ray Mize and Sarah Ethel Holcomb Mize on Nov. 3, 1945.

In her professional life, Joyce worked as a nurse for over 54 years at Mountain Lakes Medical Center in Clayton. Before that, she worked for Dr. Fowler and Dr. King at Ridgecrest Hospital in Clayton. Joyce was fond of gardening, reading books, cooking, sewing and loved to fish. She would usually out fish anyone that was with her. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who always loved her family dearly. Joyce always strived to make everyone around her happy, and she was always smiling. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was always very religious and enjoyed reading her Bible. She was a Christian and a member of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Edgar Campbell, Sr.; her son, Edgar Campbell, Jr.; nephew, Raymond Campbell II; great niece, Sarah McClain; and niece, Theresa Ramey Fortner, preceded her in death.

Her survivors include her two sons, Alex Campbell (Leighann), Michael Campbell; one daughter, Stephanie Campbell; two sisters, Marilda Harbin, Vanda Welburn (Keith); grandchildren, Olivia Campbell, Michael Campbell, Cadence Campbell, Samara Day, Thereslyn Carlyle, Brentyn Hardy. She is also survived by her in-laws and several nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a joint Celebration of Life service for Joyce, Edgar and Edgar Jr. at a later date. Beck Funeral Home, in Clayton, Ga., is in charge of the arrangements.
