Sandra Jean Lawson, 80, of Wolffork Road in Rabun Gap, passed away on June 16, 2022, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Born in Plainview, Neb., on May 11, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Osborne J. Bartling and Eva Dale Armstrong. She lived her life in Rabun County where she was a teacher for the Rabun County School system. She was a member of Wolffork Baptist Church for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ray Lawson; and her parents, Osborne and Eva Bartling. She is survived by three sons, Craig Lawson (Patty) of Clayton, Chad Lawson of Royston, and Cale Lawson (Megan) of Dillard; daughter Corina Rogers of Rabun Gap; two brothers, Lanny Bartling (Dorothie) of Verdigre, N.E., and Mark Bartling (Lori) of Leigh, N.E.; two sisters, Debby Otradovsky (David) of Valitane, N.E. and Rainelle Wilson of Gainesville. Five grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.

Pastor Madison McCrackin officiated the funeral service at Wolffork Baptist Church on June 21, 2022. Burial followed at Wolffork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Patty Lawson, on Plum Orchard Road in the Persimmon Community. Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
