George Van Buren Justus, age 80, of Clayton, passed away on Nov. 15, 2021.

George was born the son of the late Odelee Virgil Justus and the late Laura Maude Ledford Justus on Dec. 20, 1940.

George was a Christian and a member of the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church. George graduated from Rabun Gap Nacoochee School. He enjoyed spending time outside, coon hunting and farming86945. He was a Master Mason and a member of the Rabun Gap Lodge #265. He always enjoyed shooting the bull with his friends at the station in Dillard. In addition to his parents George was preceded in death by two sisters, Lexie Scruggs and Carolyn Smith; two brothers-in-law Clyde Smith and David Smith.

His survivors include his one sister, Judy Smith, of Clayton; one Brother-in-law, Bill Scruggs; six nieces and nephews, Nancy Dixon, Johnny Scruggs, Charlene Bennett, Cheryl Redden, Tonya Ramey and Torri Beck and several great nieces and nephews also survive.

The family received friends on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, at the Beck Funeral Home in Clayton from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Beck Funeral Home in Clayton, with Rev. Doug Porter officiating.

Interment followed in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, in Rabun Gap.
