Staring down an 0-3 start with another talented opponent coming into town on Friday, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School’s football team is channeling its inner Bruce Wayne. While the team’s mascot is the Eagles, they’re drawing inspiration from the Dark Knight to climb out of their current pit.

RABUN GAP – The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School football team fell to No. 6 nationally ranked Baylor School (Tenn.), 51-33 on Sept. 4. The Eagles now sit at 0-3 for the first time under head coach Derek White, and for the first time since 2012.

TIGER – The Rabun County High School volleyball team split its two home matches versus Fannin County and Class 4A East Hall on Tuesday night, Sept. 8, giving the Lady Cats a record of 9-12 on the season.

Big number of rec cross country runners torching courses early

The Rabun County Recreation Department cross country team has started off this season with a bang. This year the program has 39 runners -- an impressive increase from last year’s 23 runners. The new head coach for cross country this season is Ali Hopkins.
