The mountain landscape of Rabun County is once again the backdrop for a new film production entitled “Blue Ridge” and local residents are needed as extras during filming.

Earlier this year, Christmas on the Range was filmed in downtown Clayton and other locations in Rabun County, and the global distribution company Imagicomm Entertainment is back again for the filming of the new project.

“Blue Ridge” is a crime drama script about a Sheriff and his deputies trying to solve a mystery in a small town, said Gary Wheeler, producer for the film.

“We are also looking for local residents to be extras in the filming process,” said Tina Helms, communications coordinator.

Extras of all ages are being cast and families and individuals are encouraged to apply, according to a press release from the company.

“Especially needed are 300 extras for a festival scene being filmed on Thursday, Nov. 7,” according to the press release.
