Elaine York Carpenter, 80, of Clayton, Ga., passed away Monday, Oct. 25, 2021 at Mountain Lakes Medical Center in Clayton,.

Born Feb. 11, 1941 in Rabun County, she was the daughter of the late Marcus Sylvester York and Laura Bell Brooks. She lived her life in Rabun County and was a housewife. She was also a member of Wolf Creek Baptist Church for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus and Laura York; her husband, George Carpenter; three sons, Charles Love, Ricky Love and Dwight Love;  and a brother, Colin York.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Carpenter and Troy LeBlanc of Clayton; a brother, Calvin and Winnie Sue York of Clayton; six grandchildren, Kaleb Love, Marcey Glass, Josh (Amber) Fricks, Ashley (Jamie) Blalock, Laken Chaney and Renay Berger and by nine great grandchildren.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home and there will be a visitation on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Friday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Hicks officiating. After the service, the body will be cremated and the family will have a private interment at Wolf Creek Baptist Church at a later date.

The family is at the home on George Carpenter Lane in Clayton, Ga.
