Eugene “Gene” Duncan, of Lakemont, passed away July 31, 2022.

Born July 8, 1942, in Johnson City, Tenn., he was the son of the late Mack Edward and Neva Broyles Duncan. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brother, Charlie Duncan; sister, Jewel Louise Hayes; brother, Norman Duncan; and sister-in-law, Shirley Duncan.

Mr. Duncan is survived by his wife, Dawn Waldron Duncan; daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Jay DeSilva; son and daughter-in-law, Nat and Callie Duncan; grandson, Garnett Duncan; granddaughter, Gracie Duncan; beloved dog, Jenny Mae; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Gaye Duncan; sister, Juanita Burgner; sister-in-law, Glenda Duncan; and several nieces and nephews.

Gene was the most loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Gene’s family and beloved dog, Jenny Mae were his world. He knew no strangers and treated everyone he knew just like they were family.

He enjoyed life to the fullest, in his younger years, he was an avid golfer, boater, and fisherman. Gene enjoyed working on home improvement projects and could fix anything. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed restoring his 1967 GTO. He enjoyed watching the wildlife and birds. He loved working in his glorious garden and loved the beautiful mountains where he called home.

He served his Country proudly in the United States Air Force where he worked in the Aircraft fuel lab and refueling. He retired from a long working career in plumbing. He worked as a manager at Hughes Supply. After his time there he owned and operated Hypoluxo Plumbing in Florida.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
