Mud Creek Falls, Overlook will be off limits to public on May 8
Megan Horn/The Clayton Tribune. The Sky Valley Scenic Overlook is one of the most sought-after views in Rabun County. Effective May 8, any access to the location will be cut off after Merrill Trust Group sent notice it wanted to terminate its leases with the City of Sky Valley.

The land located across from the Sky Valley Mail Center will soon be off limits to the public after Merrill Trust Group notified the City of Sky Valley of termination of its leases. The area is frequently used for city events, such as the annual Independence Day activities and annual Fall Fest.
Megan Horn/The Clayton Tribune. The parking lot of the old ski lodge in Sky Valley is frequently used for events by the city. Effective May 8, it becomes private property as Merrill Trust Group sent formal notice of termination of any leases with the city.
