The bridge on Cat Gap Rd. in Rabun County will be closed for approximately 120 days for the construction of a new bridge, according to a statement from Scott Provance, Rabun County road director. He said 911 numbers zero-1168 will be accessed from Plum Orchard Rd. and 911 numbers 1332-2837 will be accessed from Persimmon Road. Provance said the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is in charge of inspecting roads and bridges in the county and determining construction needs. He said this project has been in the works to be completed for about seven years.
