FAITH Sweetheart Ball
Local nonprofit Fight Abuse In The Home (FAITH) staff and board members announced the cancellation of its annual Sweetheart Ball due to a COVID surge.
"After much consideration, we are very sad to announce that we have cancelled this year's annual Sweetheart Ball scheduled for Feb. 12," according to a statement. "With the surge of COVID, the health and safety of our wonderful supporters and our staff are our first priority.
"This event is FAITH's largest fundraiser, so deciding to cancel it for the second year was a very tough decision; especially as domestic violence, sexual abuse and child abuse have been on the rise across this nation since COVID began. Next February, we hope to have the largest, most spectacular Sweetheart Ball ever!" according to the statement.
Sponsors or guests who would still like to make a contribution to help FAITH sustain critical services can visit its website, www.faith-inc.org.
"We want to thank everyone for their support of our mission and hope that you stay safe and healthy during this current surge," according to the statement.
