DILLARD– Georgia Power Forestry and Right of Way contractors will conduct vegetation maintenance along the rights of way in Dillard beginning Feb. 21.
In an effort to improve reliability, a helicopter will be employed to prune certain portions of the rights of way.
Brent Edwards, Georgia Power area manager, said workers will be trimming about 14 miles of the distribution rights of way.
“It will probably take us a couple of weeks depending on weather conditions,” Edwards said.
Residents may be notified of required scheduled outages and/or may experience daily outages of up to four hours as the helicopter and the crews work to safely prune limbs and overhanging branches from the overhead distribution lines.
In addition, cleanup ground support crews will be following the helicopter, removing the debris as quickly as possible.
