This weekend is one of the best times of the year to be in downtwn Clayton and at the Rabun County Civic Center.
And don’t forget to get entered in next weekend’s Dec. 3 Christmas Parade.
The community is invited to “Christmas in Downtown Clayton” on Friday, Nov. 25, as businesses will remain open until 8 p.m.
The annual Black Friday downtown event is presented by the Clayton Merchants and Business Association.
Along with plenty of festive cheer, there will be holiday sales, luminaries, bagpiper, door prizes, live music, and a window-decorating contest.

The “Arts and Crafts Shopping Extravaganza & Festival of Trees” will be Friday, Nov. 25, and Saturday, Nov. 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rabun County Civic Center.
The civic center admission is free as 36 artists and crafters will offer a variety of items.
The Festival of Trees benefits the Kiwanis Club of Rabun County. More than 30 decorated trees (3-foot to 8-foot) will be available for bidding. Bids will end on Saturday, Nov. 26, at 5 p.m. Delivery is available.
A 50/50 raffle will be available from Kiwanis members before and during the event The drawing will be 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26. You do not have to be present to win. Also “Small Business Saturday” will be Nov. 26 at the Food Bank from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
New this year will be the “Rivalry Weekend Tailgate Party” in the Rabun County Civic Center Diner as people are encouraged to come cheer on their team on Saturday, Nov. 26, with a big-screen TV as the party starts at 11 a.m. The admission is free. Food, wine and beer will be available for purchase.
Support Small Business Saturday event and vendor show will be held Nov. 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Food Bank parking lot, 46 Plaza Way, Clayton. Please come and support small businesses and local vendors. We will have home-made items, hand-made items, crafts and so much more! Stop by and do some early holiday shopping.
The 2022 Christmas Parade, “12 Days of Christmas,” will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. on historic Main Street in downtown Clayton. The parade is presented by Forward Rabun/Rabun County Chamber of Commerce.
If you wish to participate, the cost is $20 for float entries and $10 for car/truck/walking entries.
