TIGER– The Christmas Village of Lights provided by the local nonprofit Fight Abuse in the Home (FAITH) and Kirk Knous will light up the night sky during two weekends of fun in December.
The goal of the event is to bring community awareness to the nonprofit and the resources it offers during two weekends: Dec. 9-10 and Dec. 16-17 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at 90 Tiger Connector, Tiger.
Brooke Cannon, chief financial officer of FAITH, said the event gives families an opportunity to have a safe, fun place to visit Santa. Cannon described it as a way to give back to everyone in the community.
Lights synchronized to holiday music will fill the air while many fun events await children inside the village as well.
“It’s more than just the lights,” Cannon said. She encouraged everyone to pass through the lit archway and glowing candy canes and step inside for the Christmas Village Scavenger Hunt through the indoor miniature village display. There will also be pictures with Santa and a surprise visit from the Grinch.
The display gives people the chance to see a collection of illuminated Christmas Village sets, while also being a service to the community.
This year, Sunday Diner is partnering and will provide food at the event.
The event is free but donations to FAITH are accepted. These donations will benefit victims of abuse.
Cannon said the event brings community members into the Christmas spirit, to experience the miracle of the Christmas season.
