The Rabun County Marching Wildcats competed in the Pike County Marching Invitational last Saturday in Zebulon, Ga. The band received superior ratings in all captions and were named the first runner-up in its class.
The band played its 2021 show “Mountain Spirit” featuring the selections “Spirit in the Sky”, “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” and “Home.” RCHS director Dr. Matt Leff was very excited about the band’s performance.
“This is the first time that our band has competed since the pandemic began and to come out so strong is a testimony to the exceptional work ethic of this group of students. I’m excited for their great results this year and for the foundation it will lay for future years in our program,” Leff said.
Leff was also very complimentary to everyone else who made the performance successful.
“We are blessed to have a great support system of staff, band parents, and our school and district administration,” he said.
The band will continue to perform their halftime show throughout the playoff run at RCHS football games and will add some more selections as the season progresses.
