Community members and visitors to Rabun County have one more weekend to visit the Christmas Village of Lights provided by the local nonprofit Fight Abuse in the Home (FAITH) and Kirk Knous.
The display will light up the night sky this Friday and Saturday, Dec. 16-17, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. both days at 90 Tiger Connector, Tiger.
The event gives families an opportunity to have a safe, fun place to visit with Santa Claus. The display gives people the chance to see a collection of illuminated Christmas Village sets, while also being a service to the community. Lights synchronized to holiday music will fill the air while many fun events await children inside the village as well.
The festivities kicked off last weekend as Friday and Saturday saw crowds of people admiring the glowing interactive displays and participating in the many events inside. Families can pass through the lit archway and glowing candy canes and step inside for the Christmas Village Scavenger Hunt through the indoor miniature village display.
Inside, visitors can enjoy the colorful displays, village sets sprinkled with winter snow and a train that travels around a Christmas tree for children to enjoy. There is also a space for children to draw and have a good time. Children can then head over to Santa and Mrs. Claus and The Grinch for pictures. For those who are hungry, Sunday Diner has partnered and is providing food at the event.
The event is free but donations to FAITH are accepted. These donations will benefit victims of abuse.
