TIGER– Rabun Idol saw many talented students sing their hearts out in front of an audience at the Rabun County High School Fine Arts Building March 19.
The contest was one night this year, as opposed to being held three nights in years prior. It consisted of two rounds of performances.
Contestant Hailey Smith took home the award for Judges’ Choice. She sang “Burning House” by Cam and “Con el Viento” by Jesse Reyes.
Contestant Ashlynn Blackwell took home the Fan Favorite vote by singing “Dirt Road Prayer” by Lauren Alaina and “Shut Up and Fish” by Maddie and Tae.
Contestant Nathaniel Burrell sang “Replay” by Iyaz and “Sunflower” by Post Malone; Kyleigh Sliker sang “Waiting on a Miracle” by Lin Manuel Miranda and “Jolene” by Dolly Parton; Emma Rose Hunter sang “Got me” by Gabby Barrett and “Who I am” by Jessica Andrews.
Judges Allen Blair, Alicia Kilby and Daven Vandenberg gave feedback to contestants about how they did and tips to improve for future performances.
Emceed for the night was Jocelyn Gaspar, Beverly Diaz and Kiley Turner.
