Family-day Fall Festival on Oct. 15
Sky Valley Fall Fest
After a two-year hiatus because of the pandemic, the City of Sky Valley is gearing up for its largest ever Fall Festival on Oct. 15.
“We will have events for the whole family throughout the day,” said Mayor Hollie Steil, adding the festival will run from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. She said for children the City will have hay rides, face painting, a petting zoo and a learning experience called the Blue Bus.
Adults will have numerous events as well, including an antique car show, the famous Hay Bale Trail, dog costume parade, as well as arts and crafts and food vendors.
Councilman Bruce Turner, who is heading up this year’s festival, said vendor applications were coming in but there were prime spots still available.
“Even though we haven’t had a Fall Fest in two years, we are very pleased with the interest from quality vendors,” Turner said.
The councilman said booths are 10-foot by 10-foot spaces and cost $50 for the day. Interested vendors should contact City Hall at (706) 746-2204 or Councilman Turner at (706) 968-4987. Vendors are asked to have applications completed by Oct. 7.
In addition, the City is conducting a tee-shirt design contest for the Fall Festival. Mayor Steil has created a logo for the front of the shirt and aspiring artists are being asked to submit designs for the back of the shirt. In addition to being able to sign the winning design, the winner will receive a certificate signed by the Mayor, as well as a free shirt. The T-shirt design contest runs through Sept. 15. “We have been planning this event for almost a year, and we are very excited about having a fun-filled, family event on Oct. 15,” Steil said.
