Ramey Road at Joe Davis Lane encounters extreme flooding Oct. 7 from a significant rain event several days in a row last week.
The Lake Burton Dam overflows Oct. 7 as the county is hit with a significant rain event several days in a row.
Anthony Lampros, National Weather Service co-op station observer, reported that the Germany Valley Weather Station documented 8.01 inches of rain for last week’s weather event, between Oct. 4-8. The year-to-date rain total is 76.47 inches at Germany Valley.
“A lot of different stations had or exceeded 8 inches,” Lampros said. “We didn’t have a wind event to a great extent.”
Lampros said although it rained quite a lot, there was not as much damage to power poles as there has been with rain events in the past.
