Community dances returning to famous Mountain City Playhouse

Submitted photo. The Mountain City Playhouse will offer people a venue to do contra dancing on the third Friday of each month. The first will be Oct. 16 and the next two dances will be Nov. 20 and Dec. 18. Contra dancing is similiar to square dancing. A caller from Brasstown, N.C., will be coming to Mountain City for the dances.
In the mid-to-late 20th century, Mountain City, Ga.’s population would triple on a Saturday night, thanks to the Mountain City Playhouse.
