Probate Judge Hobie Jones is sworn in by Superior Court Judge Chan Caudell at the Rabun County Courthouse on Tuesday.
“I appreciate Hobie (Jones) inviting me to administer the oath of office,” Caudell said before administering the oath. He praised Jones for his good works in the community and said that Rabun County is lucky to have him as probate judge.
“The public money will be safe with me,” Jones said in remarks after he was sworn in. “And the Probate Judge of Rabun County is all I want to be.”
He succeeds Probate Judge Lillian Garrett who retires at the end of the year.
