Two more COVID-19 cases confirmed in Rabun County

The Georgia Department of Public Health confirmed two additional cases of COVID-19 in Rabun County with their noon update on Tuesday, April 7, bringing the total number of cases confirmed locally to five.

The total number of tests being conducted locally is not immediately available.

Tammy Coll, Chief Executive Officer at Mountain Lakes Medical Center, said nine more people were tested at the facility over the weekend. Two were hospitalized and awaiting test results as of Tuesday morning.

Statewide, GDHP currently reports 8,818 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Georgia. There have been 329 deaths attributed to the virus statewide.
