As you know, the number one priority of Rabun County Schools is student safety.
During the previous school year, several safety issues were noted with school bus transportation on Turpin Street in Tiger. Turpin Street is a single lane road with limited sight distance, as well as a dead end street without a public turn around. After evaluating the situation, it has been determined that there is not a safe place to turn the bus around, and therefore we will no longer travel down Turpin Street in a school bus effective the 23-24 school year.
If your child(ren) have Turpin Street as a bus stop, please make arrangments for your child(ren) to meet the bus at new stop at Old 441 South at Turpin Street. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to the Rabun County Schools Transportation Department at 706-782-6447.
