Courtney Faith Zajdowicz, 26, of Mountain City, passed away Sept. 1, 2021.
In her professional life she worked as a supervisor at the Rabun County Detention Center. Previously she had worked at Ingles during her time as a Rabun County High School student, and went on to work at Alto State Prison, as well as working for a Certified Transport Company.
She was taking classes online to become an EMT. Courtney was always smiling and outgoing in her personality. She had a big heart and always tried her best to help those in need.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Leonard Cross.
She is survived by her parents, David Cross and Crystal Zajdowicz Cross of Clayton; her grandparents, Janet Zajdowicz and Margaret Cross; her brother, Dominic Cross of Clayton; as well as many close friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 10, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home in Clayton.
A service will be held Saturday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Beck Funeral Home with the Rev. Chuck Stutsman officiating.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Courtney's memory to benefit local law enforcement.
