Albert Lamar Beck 85 of Clayton, Ga. died Sunday, November 8, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his siblings Warren Richard Beck, Sr, Laverne Lesel Beck Northcutt and his nephew Warren Richard Beck, Jr. 

He was born August 11, 1935, to the late Lamar Richard and Lesel Cannon Beck, formerly of the Warwoman community.

He graduated from Rabun County High School in 1953.  He served in the US Air Force in Japan during the Korean War.  In 1958 Albert married Shirley Anne Keener of Wolffork Valley on March 30th.  He attended Georgia State University in Atlanta.  He began his career at Delta Airlines in 1962.  He advanced through the ranks to become Director of Flight Operations.  He retired after 31 years at Delta Airlines. 

Albert was involved in many civic organizations.  He was a member of the Hapeville Masonic Lodge 590, Georgia and Rabun Gap Lodge for 62 years.  He served as Worshipful Master of Rabun Gap Masonic Lodge 265 for three terms.  He was a member of the Yaarab Shrine in Atlanta, Ga.  He was Commander in 2004 of the Legion of Honor.  He was a member of Battle Branch Baptist Church of the Warwoman community. 

Survivors include:  Shirley Keener of Clayton, Ga.; daughter Lyn Beck McDonough and son-in-law Curtis Eade of Atlanta; daughter Lisa Beck Fleenor (Robert Franklin Fleenor, Jr deceased) of Atlanta; one brother, Luther Beck, of Commerce; three grandsons and one grand-daughter, Robert Franklin Fleenor, III of Denver, CO; Caroline Victoria Fleenor of Dallas, TX; Thomas Ryan McDonough of Atlanta; Patrick Riley McDonough of Atlanta.

Funeral services will be held on November 13, 2020 at Battle Branch Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Madison McCrackin.
