Betty Sue Gunter, age 82, of Clayton, passed away on April 30, 2022, at her home with her family at her side.

Betty is the daughter of the late Alvin Owens and the late Idell Nations Owens. She was a lifelong resident of Clayton. She owned and operated Betty’s Upholstery for 32 years. Betty enjoyed motorcycle rides, dancing, singing karaoke, and going to yard sales and thrift stores. She loved to find bargains! She enjoyed helping people that needed someone. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were the most important thing in her life.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Taylor; and two brothers, Bill Owens and Alvin Owens Jr.

Betty is survived by one son Matt Beck (Lori) of Clayton; two daughters Vonda Hughes and Ragan Beck both of Clayton; two brothers Gene Owens and Alton Owens both of Clayton; four sisters Gladys Clem, Eva Lou Campbell, Linda Owens and Katherine Owens all of Clayton; four grandchildren William Taylor, Nocona Hughes, Calab Wilson and Cooper Beck all of Clayton.

A funeral service was held in the chapel of Beck Funeral Home on May 3, 2022, with Rev. James Pendrey officiating. Burial followed at Rabun Memory Park.
