Bill Ray Owens, 67, son of Jesse Ray and Jean Holt Owens died at home Oct. 19, 2020. 

Born in Augusta, he grew up in the Satolah community outside of Clayton, Ga. He loved music and played the banjo and dobro, and played with several bluegrass bands at different times. He proudly served in the 793rd Military Police Battalion stationed in Germany, with temporary duty posts in Vietnam. He was a member of the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club in the early 1970s, and was an excellent motorcycle and car mechanic. He loved the outdoors, loved to camp, and to deer hunt. Most of all, he loved his family. 

Survivors include his wife, Mary Anna Owens; sister, Donna Rogers; brother, Clay Owens and wife Vickie; son, Dillon Owens (Becky); daughters, Mandy Owens Houston (Chris), Clara Beth Crisp, and Keri Whitmire; one niece, two nephews, and four grandchildren.
