The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces funeral services for Mr. Carl David Cannon, Jr. age 71 of Hiawassee, who passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020. 

David was born in Duluth, Ga. to the late Carl David Cannon Sr. and Mary Ruth Strickland Cannon. One of his fondest memories was his uncle Roger letting him drive old trucks around his grandad's farm. He loved his family, church, his Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed fishing when he had time, but his passion was finding and restoring old Ford Broncos. He worked many years as a foreman for Burke Concrete Company and then while living in Hiawassee for the last 20 years, he and wife Loretta Ellison Dixon Cannon had developed real estate properties.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years Loretta; daughter Christina Cannon (David) Turner of Berwyn, Pa.; stepchildren, Chad Dixon of Lakemont, Ga; Jenny Henricks (Dennis) of Tiger, Ga.; brother, Steve Cannon of Tellico Plains, Tn.; brother, Dan Cannon (Debbie) of Pelion, SC.; 2 granddaughters Clara and Hailey Turner of Berwyn; Pa. 3 step-grandchildren, Ryan Dixon of Lakemont, Ga.; Dawson and Brooke Henricks of Tiger, Ga.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 14, 2020 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Richard L. Rickman officiating. A eulogy will be given by Chaplain Charles Lands. Interment was in the Laurel Hills Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help defray the cost of funeral expenses.
