Emily Irene Bynum Albright passed away on July 29, 2019.  A native of Rabun County, Georgia, she was born the daughter of the late Thad L. Bynum and Irene Powell Bynum of Clayton, Georgia.

 She was the youngest of the four Bynum siblings, and was a graduate of Rabun County High School.  She attended Shorter College and pursued studies in music, then transferrred to the University of Georgia where she received a degree in Education.  It was at the University of Georgia where she met her beloved Ed.

She married Edward Albright, Jr. in 1953 at Clayton Baptist Church and they moved to Atlanta, Georgia to raise their family.  Emily was a primary school teacher until leaving education to become a devoted mother to her children.  She was very active in their education and extra-curricular activities.  She loved gardening, traveling, and playing her piano.  She enjoyed raising animals as a hobby with her children and along the way they shared many adventures.

Upon retirement, she and her husband moved back to her hometown of Clayton, Georgia where she was a member of Clayton Baptist Church.

 She was preceded in death by brothers, Knox Bynum of Clayton, Georgia and James William Bynum of Melbourne, Florida and her oldest son, Edward Allen Albright, III.

She is survived by her sister, Roslyn Bynum Strickland of Clayton, Georgia, her husband, Edward Albright, Jr., of Clayton, Georgia, daughter, Leigh Ann McGuire of Tullahoma, Tennessee, son, Steven Wade Albright of Clarkesville, Ga.  Three grandchildren, Matthew McGuire of Tennessee, Katherine Albright Dees (David) of Atlanta, Georgia and Christine Albright Pearson (Matt) of Lakeland, Minnesota and 2 great grandchildren, Adley Grace Pearson and Wyatt David Dees.

 In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Clayton Baptist Church

A memorial service was held August 2, 2019 in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Joey Thompson officiating.
