George Banschbach went to be with the Lord on July 5, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bernice Banschbach.  He was born in Miami, Fla. and graduated from high school there.  He attended Georgia Tech and graduated from Southern Tech. He worked many years in the telecommunications industry.  He became a follower of Jesus Christ in 1970 and served the Lord going on mission trips to Central America and the Caribbean.  He also taught Cuban Bible Studies in Miami.  He was involved in prison ministry for many years and nursing home ministry for several years. 

He is survived by his wife, Beth, of 51 years who served alongside him all those years. His other survivors are his son, Edward Hernandez (Edenia), of Davie, Fla.; three daughters, Melissa Hilburn (John), of Gainesville, Ga., Mary McCoy, of Conyers, Ga., Anne Marie English (Ryan), of Verona, Wis.; his sister, Martha Caro (Joe), of St. Johns, Fla. Eleven grandchildren, Rebekah, Daniel, David and Samuel Hernandez, Rex and Luke Hilburn, Rachael, Hannah, Abigael and Joshua David English and Abbie Boggs, also survive him.

A graveside service will be at Johnson UMC in Watkinsville, Ga. at 1 p.m. Friday, July 17th.  Johnson UMC is located at 1890 Flat Rock Road.  A Celebration of Life service will be at Christ the King Anglican Church in Hiawassee at a later date.
