Gordon Lee Brown (73) of Auburndale, Fla. (formerly of Clayton) gained his wings, with his family by his side, on January 30, 2020 after an extended illness.

He was born in Plant City, Fla. on Dec. 2, 1946 to Gordon and Beulah Brown.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Brown.

He leaves behind is wife of 36 years, Debra Brown (of the home), his two sisters, Nancy Lawson of Lakeland, Fla., and Linda Dempsey (Darryl) of Plant City, Fla.; his four children, Kristy Reville (Lindsey) of Lincolnton, Ga., Jennifer Welch (Bo) of Otto, N.C., Jason Brown (Kara) of Mt, Airy, Ga., and Sharon Stewart (Shanon) of Rabun Gap, Ga.

He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Gordon retired from Publix after many years of service at which time he moved to Rabun County. While in Georgia, Gordon supplied our gas stations as an Eagle truck driver.

In his early days, Gordon was a very accomplished bowler and won many championships/competitions; but his true loves (aside from family) were his NASCAR Racing and his Florida Gators.

 A private service will be held at a later date.
