Ida Pearl Brown, 74, of Tiger, died Thursday, Aug. 22.

She was born on July 2, 1945 in Woodville, Fla. and was the daughter of the late Norman Rudd and Delia Taylor Rudd.

On June 14, 1986, she married Jimmie Brown in Maitland, Fla.

She was a beloved wife, mother, stepmother, grandma, and friend. Ida retired to Tiger 16 years ago from Sanford, Fla. when Jimmie retired from the Orange County Fire Department. Ida worked for Red Lobster for several years, then Barnie's BBQ, and later Sonny's BBQ. She was the epitome of hard worker. She was an avid reader who loved growing flowers and tomatoes, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She truly enjoyed volunteering in the church nursery and with Meals on Wheels until declining health prevented her from continuing. Ida will be missed by many. Don't forget to hug your loved ones a little closer and make every day count.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by: sons Perry Jacobs of Clayton, Ga., Terry Jacobs of Highlands, N.C.; stepson Joel Brown of Charleston, S.C.; stepdaughter Pam Travers (Dan) of Orlando, Fla.; granddaughters: Ivey Travers of Orlando, Fla., Savannah James of Crowley, Louisiana and great-grandson Karder James of Crowley, Louisiana.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Florence “Sissy” Jacobs.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, 2206 Bridge Creek Road, Tiger, Ga. 30576
