James Cresley Pollard, age 72 of Clayton passed away on Sept. 5, 2022.

Cresley was born the son of the late Essie Mae Hooper Lee and the late James Willie Pollard on Aug. 11, 1950. Cresley loved music, especially playing guitar which he excelled at in his youth. He liked the outdoors and hot rod cars. He was a social person, who liked to be around people and who loved his friends. He always was happiest when spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by seven siblings, Edward Eller, Lathen Lee, Hoyt Pollard, Tom Pollard, Gary Pollard, Anita Armstrong and Leila Littrell.

His survivors include his two sons, Dwayne Pollard (Stephanie) and Josh Pollard (Cova); his daughter, Stephanie Beard (Ronnie); his three brothers, David Lee, Ricky Pollard and Terry Pollard; his sisters, Dolores Crane (Fred) and Vickie P. Harmon; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive him.

The family received friends on Wednesday Sept. 7, 2022 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Beck Funeral Home in Clayton, Ga.

A funeral service was held at the Beck Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday Sept. 8, 2022, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Glenville Nichols officiating.
