Dennis was born April 3, 1966, in Clayton, Ga., son of James Holland Brookshire and Charlotte Carnes Brookshire. He was a graduate of Wando High School and a licensed charter boat captain. Dennis was happiest on the water and was a professional captain for the majority of his life. He was well respected and loved in the community and always at the top of his fleet. Dennis never met a stranger and was an animated storyteller that could make everyone around him smile and laugh. He was a fantastic dad that loved his children and held them close to his heart. He lives on in the legacy of his family and the memories we all share.

He is survived by his mother, Charlotte Brookshire of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Tina Brookshire Kenneally of Mt. Pleasant; children, Beckett St. Clair Brookshire of Mt. Pleasant and Jason Dean Brookshire of Greenville, S.C.; and two grandchildren, Emma Grace Mevers, Robert Walker Seawright, III.

He is preceded in death by his father James Holland Brookshire.
