James Leman Cragg, born Feb. 13, 1946, in Clayton to Henry Cragg and Eula Mae, went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 3, 2022.

James was married to Linda Whitmire and had two sons, Wes (April) and Eric (Brandy). They filled his quiver with nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. James later married Angie Cabrera. Together they had two sons, James (Tammy) and Joshua (Laura), followed by 5 more grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Angie Cragg of the home; brother Charles Cragg (Becky) of Copperas Cove, Texas; sister Martha (Herald) of Lawrenceville. He is also survived by four sons, Wesley Cragg of Wolf City, Texas, Eric Cragg of Sherman, Texas, James Cragg of Plano, Texas, and Joshua Cragg of Wichita Falls, Texas; 12 grandchildren, Stephen, Bradley, Kassidy, Sierra, Megan, Sean, Matthew, Kenley, Milayla, Taylor and Aubrey; six great grandchildren, Chaslin, Austin, Camille, Ava, Braxton and Brynlee. He is also survived by mother-in-law Consuela Cabrera (four brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law).

He was preceded in death by his father Henry Cragg, mother Eula Mae Cragg, sister JoAnn Cragg, and maternal grandparents Elisha Carnes (Martha).

He was a retired Army Master Sergeant. He was also retired from the Department of Public Safety. Following his retirement, he served on the staff of First Baptist Church in Denison, Texas, and then as pastor of the Sandy Springs Church in Whitesboro, Texas, until the time of his death.

He will be laid to rest at Mount Tabor Cemetery in Sadler, Texas. Pallbearers will be sons Wesley, Eric, James and Joshua, and grandsons Bradley and Stephen.
